Steilacoom Farmer's Market

Every Wednesday this summer is the Steilacoom Farmer's Market They have awesome booths with cool and unique items for sale, plus food, sno cones, drinks and more!  Then to top it all off they have outdoor concerts on the lawn with amazing views overlooking the Puget Sound. We love to cruise through all of the booths, pick up some fresh fruit, some dinner and drinks and then head to the grassy lawn area where the kiddos can run and play while we listed to the music with a light breeze blowing through the air.  It's the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Museum of Glass Bridge

Most evenings after I get done at work, I like to take the kiddos out to do or see something that can be fun, entertaining or even educational!  I am all about getting them out and about having different experiences.  Having these types of experiences lead to great questions and conversations.  We love going downtown here in Tacoma and just walking the streets while looking at the views, admiring the buildings and all of the art work.  The Museum of Glass Bridge is one of our favorite spots to play on. They have amazing art pieces all along the bridge, the views are amazing and there are these cool blocks that the kids love to climb on and jump off them over and over again.  Oh, and there is a choo choo train that the bridge goes over as well.  It's all very entertaining.  Some of these spots never get old and we just keep going back.

Fort Nisqually at Point Defiance

Point Defiance is just a few miles away from where we live, so we head up there often.  There are plenty of amazing trails, and beaches to explore.  There is also a fort up there call Fort Nisqually.
The fort is awesome, it was these tall wooden walls all the way around it and there is plenty to see and explore once you go in.  The fort is surrounded by all of the awesome trees that are around Point Defiance and you get little views of the Puget Sound as well.  It's very historical and there is lots to learn about.  They do charge to enter the fort and explore a little more.
Head to the fort sometime and do a little exploring for yourself, it's worth it!  These pictures were taken from last fall when we were exploring the fort and the wooden backdrop it awesome for pictures.
