The welcome home back at the Seatac Airport was a huge party! There was a welcome home party right when we got off the plane and then again in the baggage claim area. There were tons of people there to show their love and support. All of the Veterans were escorted in to the atrium at the airport and there was bag pipe music and a great program to thank them all for their service. It was a humbling experience and something I will always remember. It was great to have my family there as well to experience it all! What a memorable trip!

Seattle Half Marathon
A couple months ago my buddy from Portland signed up for the Seattle Half Marathon and he talked me into running it with him. So I signed up and actually started to run more and train. I have run plenty of half marathons before, but it was been several years so I had to increase my weekly mileage. I started running more for the past 2 months and was able to run and finish the race!
It was cold, but the course was amazing! Running through downtown Seattle with tons of spectators, then on the freeway, to Mercer Island, along Lake Washington, through the woods and then back downtown. It was a great course. I finished at 1 hour 48 minutes.

Jefferson Park
After the race we were able to play at the amazing park and see the awesome views as well. The kiddos had fun running around, trying out all of the slides and swings and everything else that park had to offer. The views of the port and downtown were amazing as well. We finished off the day with a Mexican dinner and then downtown Seattle where my sister was staying.

BYU Women's Cross Country
My little sister is a runner at BYU. She runs cross country, indoor and outdoor track. She has competed in Seattle over the years and last weekend UW hosted a big race at Jefferson Park in Seattle. Natalie was one of 12 runners from the BYU women's team that ran. The course went all over the Jefferson Park Golf Course and it was fun running around trying to cheer her on in different spots all over the course. She ended up doing awesome and took first place fro BYU and was 8th overall. BYU placed 4th overall out of all the teams. It was fun to watch her run again and the kiddos loved seeing their Aunt Nat run too.
