Summer Swimming

There are quite a few different pools that are open around the Tacoma area and we have had them on our summer to do bucket list.  The summer has gone by so fast that we still need to go to a few of them.  The wifey has been good at going during the days to the 'Wave Pool' and the 'Waterslide Pool' and after work one day last week I took the older two kiddos to the Fircrest Pool. It was an evening well spent and Mr. T is finally getting the hang of swimming and is doing really well.

When we were in Portland a couple weekends ago there was a pool at our hotel, so we spent a couple hours before bed, swimming and playing in the water.  Just watch these videos and enjoy the pictures.  Fun times in the water.  Sad to see summer almost over.

iPhone Pics from Punch Bowl Falls

I did have my better camera with me on the hike to Punch Bowl Falls, but the iPhone is so much easier, so I have some pretty good shots with the phone as well.  Here are a bunch of them and yes I invested in a selfie stick!  It was only $5 bucks at Big Lots and I caved and bought one.

Punch Bowl Falls

The falls were absolutely amazing!  The hike up to the falls was scenic and went by fast.  The kiddos did really well on the hike too and we only had 1 stopping point for water and candy.  There are 2 different falls.  The lower falls is where we jumped into the water and swam around in the cold water in the swimming hole.  There are different points where you can jump depending on how high you want to be.  The kiddos played in the river and threw rocks, etc...... the upper falls was beautiful!  You can swim right up to the falls and there are more areas where you can jump off the cliffs as well.  We had lunch up here and spend a couple hours just enjoying it all.
Stay tuned for iPhone pictures next!

Eagle Creek Hiking Trail

Our really good friends moved up to the Pacific Northwest last month and we wanted to take them on a fun adventure with us, so we spend the weekend in Oregon and had a blast hiking, swimming and jumping into the water at Punch Bowl Falls.  We hiked about 2 miles along the Eagle Creek and ended up at the Ouch Bowl Falls.  The kiddos did pretty good and the trail was scenic.  There was smoke in the air from all of the fires up here in the PNW, but that didn't stop us from getting to the falls.  Once we got there we had lunch, played in the water, and ended up jumping off the falls into the water.  The jump was awesome, the water was freezing cold, yet very refreshing!  Here are some of the pictures from the hiking trail, next post will be pictures of the falls and the river.
