Lake Tahoe

While in Reno, we spent one day up at Lake Tahoe.  Tahoe is my wifey's happy place.  She grew up going to the lake often and always thought the Lake Tahoe was the coldest water to swim in.  Flash forward 20 years and the Puget Sound is winning now.  The water up here in the PNW is way colder than Lake Tahoe. We had a great time relaxing on the beach and playing in the water and swimming around on all of the rocks.  It was a great day at the lake.

Exploring the Yuba River

After spending a few days in Utah with family and friends, we made the drive across I-80 to Reno, NV.  We brought 2 of the kiddos cousins with us too.  That's right, we had 5 kids all under the age of 6 in our little mini van, ha!

While in Reno, we drove up and over Donner Pass to California and then down to spent a day exploring the Yuba River.  We stopped 3 different times along the river.  All of the stops were amazing!  We found some fun little hikes, went swimming in some amazing river swimming holes and even jumped off some rocks and cliffs into the river.  It was a hot and sunny day and we had a great time exploring the river. This is a river that I would love to go back to and explore some more.  I only had my iphone on the river but still managed to get some decent shots.  The water colors were amazing!

Scout Falls Hike

While in UT, we spend one afternoon up American Fork Canyon doing some hiking and exploring.  We ended up hiking to Scout Falls and it was awesome!  The trail starts along the back side of Mt. Timpanogos and goes for quite awhile.  We stopped at Scout Falls and had a little lunch under the falls.  The kiddos loved crossing the little rivers and walking through all of the mud.
Being in the mountains in Utah just feels right, it feels good to have my kiddos up there hiking around and seeing all that they have to offer.  Being outside always feels good!
