Mt. Hood

After all of the hiking and seeing the amazing waterfalls, we ended up driving all around Mt. Hood in the evening.  The views of Mt. Hood were amazing and we wanted to get closer, so we did.  We ended up driving to The Timberline Lodge, and it was so worth it!  The lodges were open with little shops and restaurants and there were tons of hiking trails all over the place.  We walked around a little and checked out the lodges and just soaked up the amazing views.  It was quite a bit cooler that high up and we were glad we had sweatshirts.  The lodge was awesome and the elevation was just under 6,000 feet.  There was still snow up on the top of Mt. Hood and there were even some skiers hiking us and trying to get to the snow.  It was an evening well spent.
We drove back into Portland that night as the sun was setting and grabbed a quick dinner, then headed back home to WA.  The kiddos were fast asleep on the drive home as we pulled back into the driveway just before 1 am.  It was a weekend well spent.
