Tacoma Narrows Bridge

I love where we live.  I really do.  I know people say that all the time, but honestly there is so much to see and do here in WA state and the Pacific Northwest as a whole.  One of the sights that we get to see often is the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.  We drive by it often and love soaking up the views!  This bridge has collapsed at one point! Seriously, it has.  Crazy!

There is a walkway that goes along the entire bridge from Tacoma to Gig Harbor.  It is a nice walkway with amazing views all around.  There is a slight incline in the bridge going to the center and also a decline on the other side.  It is noisy from all of the cars as you cross, but the views make up for that.  I have taken the kiddos running across the bridge and some nights we go and watch the sunset from the bridge.  The kiddos think it's pretty awesome to look down to the water and watch the boats pass by and see if they can spot out some of the parks in Gig Harbor and Tacoma.

These pictures are taken from last summer and a couple from last month, but they give you an idea of the size and the amazing views.  It's easiest to park up at the War Memorial Park, walk through the park, cross Jackson Avenue at the stop light and then walk all the way across the bridge or part of it.  It's a fun local thing to do! You will most likely cross others runners, walkers or bikers as well.  We live in a beautiful place.
